Family: Just over 25 years ago I married my high school sweetheart and prom date. Tom and I chose to move to North Bend to raise our family. We often wonder at how our children grew into such great individuals whom we truly admire. I’m pretty sure it hand way less to do with our parenting and more to do with God’s grace. Elizabeth and Emily are studying at CWU and Dylan is studying at BC. Until grandchildren are part of the picture our dog Chuck is filling in.
Hometown: I grew up in Southern California and while I only miss the sunshine a little bit, I miss my extended family a great deal. We make a yearly trek down the coast and I still can’t figure out why the train, slowest mode of travel, is the most expensive, maybe because it's the most fun.
Education/Experience: Licensed Minister with the Evangelical Covenant Church and currently continuing my education at North Park Seminary. I have served on staff in Children’s Ministry for over 8 years and teaching children continues to be my calling and my joy. I recently wrote and published The Biggest Love Ever to help children understand who God is and to help parents talk about faith with their children.
Hobbies/Interests: Game night with my family is my favorite thing to do. I also enjoy reading, writing, traveling, concerts and being with friends.
Favorite Scripture and Why: I was the kid that could never choose just one of the 31 flavors of ice cream so it goes that I have several favorite scriptures, but one that stands out is Isaiah 40:31. “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles, they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” It reminds me to rely on God.
Authors/Books that have Impacted My Life: Almost anything by CS Lewis, but especially Mere Christianity and A Grief Observed; Anne of Green Gables; The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe; Pride and Prejudice along with most classic English literature; my favorite daily devotional is Streams in the Desert by LB Cowan.

At my son’s request I watched Dr. Who and, in case you are wondering, the 10th Dr is my favorite. My current favorite show is Agents of Shield. Also having fun watching baseball and Formula 1 with Tom; Gone with the Wind and Bringing Up Baby. Thanks to Emily I am a LOTR fan (read Lord of the Rings) and thanks to Dylan and Elizabeth I am turning into a Marvel Universe fan so Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers are in my top movies.
Favorite Vacation Place: Italy is my favorite place because the tastes and the sounds, the cadences of people speaking remind of being at Grandmas. I love to sightsee and never get tired of cathedrals, sculptures, and historical sites. Also, the gelato!
Favorite Food(s): My mother’s chocolate cake, Grandmas Risotto, Aunt Mary’s Eggplant Parmesan, Elizabeth’s Pizzelles, and Tom’s Tequila Chicken.
